Lakewood High’s Class of ’75 Zooms Backin 2020!

Back in 1975, the halls of Lakewood High were alive with students’ buzz. Fast-forward to 2020, and it was time for a grand reunion. But how do you celebrate 45 years of friendship during a pandemic? With creativity and lots of heart, that’s how!

On August 15th, the Lakewood High Class of ’75 proved nothing could hold back their Tiger spirit. We hosted a hybrid reunion at the lovely Fox Hollow Pavilion and connected with distant classmates via a lively Zoom call. It was a bash that mixed the old with the new in the best way possible!

The event started at a sunset, with the beautiful smokey Colorado landscape as our backdrop. Those who could join in person enjoyed a safe gathering outdoors, while others tuned in from their homes, ready to dive into the fun. And what fun it was!

The night was not just about reconnecting; it was about making new memories.

Maverick Mike spun tunes from the ’70s, filling the air with music that had us all reminiscing. Then came the highlight—”Fast Time at Lakewood High,” a comedy show with everyone in perplexed smiles. Thanks to Chuck Roy and Mike Lanworthy, our comic hosts, the past met the present to the fast times at Lakewood High.

Despite a few hiccups in syncing the virtual with the real, the feeling of togetherness was palpable. Diane Dunn wowed us with her drink-making skills, winning the best drink contest, while Cindy Forst Bacon scooped up the prize for best mask. It wasn’t just a night to remember; it was a testament to the strong bonds we formed all those years ago and continue to cherish.

As we look ahead, we’re not slowing down. We’ve set our sights on 2025 for an even bigger celebration—our 50th reunion! It will be a momentous occasion, and we can’t wait to see you there. So, keep your calendars open and stay tuned. Let’s keep the spirit alive and show that the Class of ’75 still knows how to throw an unforgettable party!
